It was a moment of pride for B4U , the most popular Asian network in the US , when the television channel was given the honour of Great Grand Royal Patron at the India Day Parade in New York on Sunday, August 15 , India 's Independence Day.
A crowd of over 125,000 turned up at Madison Avenue on a sunny day in the Big Apple to greet the B4U Network float with its eye-catching and distinctive red and white logo colours.
Bollywood fans got into the spirit of celebrations as DJs played popular film tunes and a dance troupe atop the float performed to hit numbers. Staff from the channel gave away goodies as the float made its way through the city's streets.
There was also a live performance by singer Madhushree of Mahi Vaye fame (Kal Ho Na Ho) on the main stage.
The channel's local presenters interacted with the enthusiastic crowds who were keen to convey their Independence Day greetings to B4U Music, the only Asian music channel in all of North America .
Revellers cheered reigning Bollywood star Preity Zinta , the chief guest at the event. It was a carnival-like atmosphere as all roads leading to this busy avenue were blocked off by the NYPD, turning Manhattan into a mini India with the Empire State Building lit up in the Indian tricolour. Many were seen tucking into delicious snacks at the Indian food stalls.
B4U Network has two channels in the US - B4U Movies and B4U Music - which are available on the Dish network. B4U is the only network to focus on Bollywood in the US .
